
Socially Necessary Services
Socially necessary services are interventions designed to maintain or establish safety, permanency, and well-being for the Bureau for Social Services (BSS) populations of focus, including child protective and youth services.
Families R Us, LLC has been contracted with the West Virginia Department of Human Services to provide Socially Necessary Services since 2012 in southern West Virginia.
Services provided are to assist in meeting treatment goals that have been outlined in the safety plan by the WV DoHS.
Services may include: Individualized Parenting, Adult Skill Building, Random Drug Screens, Visitations, Transports and more for Youth Services and Child Protective Service families.
The goal of Socially Necessary Services (SNS) is to provide needed services and supports for those who are involved in the child welfare system in order to help preserve and reunify families.
Essential to that goal is investing in high-quality, evidence-based programs to reduce and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Socially Necessary Services:
- Helps families remain safely together
- Prevents children from being placed in foster care or residential treatment
- Assists in the reunification of children from out-of-home placement
- Improves relationships among parents and children
